You are bidding on a 230 foot Spool of 9/16" 8x19 fibre core wire made by Loos & Co. Inc. This is the uncoated plow steel fibre core variety. New surplus with cosmoline on it to protect it from the elements.

It shows to have a Nominal Breaking Strength of 23,200 pounds.

The size relationship between strands and cores gives these ropes increased bendability over six strand ropes of the same diameter. The 8x19 has more crushing resistance and a higher minimum breaking force than 19x7, but less rotation resistance. A 8x19 class rope can be used in multi-part reeving where limited rotation resistance is required.

Federal Specification: RR-W-410E, Type I, Class 4, Construction 4, Filler Wire (8x19) calling for 8 outer cables 15 to 21 strands per cable.
